Make the switch from clinical to commercial and help hospitals across Europe adopt BoneMRI as their standard of care.
The Clinical-to-Commercial Trainee is a structured transition role for experienced Clinical Specialists who are ready to step into a commercial career. Reporting directly to the CEO/CCO, you will learn to drive adoption, utilisation, and revenue growth of BoneMRI across hospitals and imaging centres in Europe — while leveraging the deep clinical knowledge you already bring.
What you tell at birthday parties about your job
“The company I work for developed BoneMRI — a software solution that replaces X-ray CT scans with a radiation-free alternative, using only one machine and one exam. My background is in clinical work, but now I’m making the switch to the commercial side — helping hospitals across the world understand why BoneMRI should become their everyday standard of care.”

What you actually will be doing
The Clinical-to-Commercial Trainee is a structured transition role for experienced Clinical Specialists who are ready to step into a commercial career. Reporting directly to the CEO/CCO, you will learn to drive adoption, utilisation, and revenue growth of BoneMRI across hospitals and imaging centres in Europe — while leveraging the deep clinical knowledge you already bring.
You know the clinical world — the workflows, the stakeholders, the language — and now you want to use that expertise to create commercial impact. This traineeship is designed to bridge the gap: you will be coached on the full commercial cycle while working directly with radiologists, spine surgeons, OR staff, and hospital administrators. You are a self-starter who is ready to grow beyond the clinical role and become a true collaborator across both clinical and commercial stakeholders.
Traineeship phases
The traineeship is structured into three phases of four months each, with growing autonomy and commercial responsibility throughout. Each phase has clear learning goals, a dedicated focus area, and a formal review with the CEO/CCO at its close.
Phase 1 – Foundation & Orientation (Months 1-4)
Learn, observe, and build your product and market foundations.
In this first phase, you immerse yourself in BoneMRI — its clinical value, its technology, and the EU and US market in which it operates. You shadow senior colleagues, learn the CRM, and begin mapping the stakeholder landscape in your territory.
Focus areas
- Develop deep product knowledge of BoneMRI: its clinical value, regulatory status (CE/FDA), and reimbursement landscape across key EU and US markets.
- Understand MRIguidance’s commercial model, pricing structure, and EU and US go-to-market strategy.
- Shadow senior commercial colleagues on customer visits, demos, and negotiations.
- Learn CRM workflows: lead entry, pipeline management, and account tracking.
- Map key EU and US stakeholders using your existing clinical network; build your first territory account overview.
- Complete AdvaMed / MedTech Code compliance training.
Phase 1 milestone (end of Month 4)
Pass BoneMRI product certification; deliver a first internal product demo to the commercial team; submit territory stakeholder map with 40+ contacts; complete formal review with CEO/CCO.
Phase 2 – Commercial Integration (Months 5-8)
Apply your knowledge, take co-ownership, and contribute to real deals.
In this phase, you step out of observation mode and into active commercial contribution. You take co-ownership of assigned accounts, deliver independent product demonstrations, and begin managing the full sales cycle — with senior support always available.
Focus areas
- Take co-ownership of assigned accounts and prospect pipeline with senior support.
- Deliver independent product demonstrations to clinical and economic decision-makers.
- Build and present commercial proposals: quotations, value propositions, and ROI arguments for hospital procurement teams.
- Support post-installation accounts: drive scan volume growth within the first 90 days, applying your clinical expertise.
- Build KOL relationships in radiology and spine surgery; represent MRIguidance at one regional conference or clinical training event.
Phase 2 milestone (end of Month 8)
Deliver minimum 5 independent product demonstrations; co-author at least 5 commercial proposals; achieve defined scan volume growth in 4 assigned accounts; attend one external clinical event; complete mid-programme review with CEO/CCO.
Phase 3 – Independent Practice (Months 9-12)
Lead, close, and demonstrate readiness for a full commercial role.
In the final phase you operate with full commercial ownership of your assigned territory. You lead negotiations, close contracts, contribute to strategy, and prove your readiness for a permanent commercial role within MRIguidance.
Focus areas
- Own assigned EU and/or US accounts end-to-end: pipeline, negotiation, closing, and post-sale utilisation growth.
- Lead the commercial relationship with EU and/or US distribution partners in your assigned territory.
- Support reimbursement efforts by linking clinical outcomes to economic impact and workflow efficiency.
- Drive real-world data and evidence generation initiatives alongside clinical teams.
- Contribute market intelligence to commercial strategy and product roadmap discussions; mentor incoming trainees as applicable.
Phase 3 milestone (end of Month 12)
Close at least 1 new contract independently or co-lead a closing; present a territory commercial strategy to the CEO/CCO (Month 10); achieve agreed revenue and utilisation KPIs for the full 12-month period; receive programme completion certificate and career path discussion.
Your responsibilities
Commercial Development
- Learn to own the EU and/or US account base and prospect pipeline — from lead generation through to signed contract and sustained growth — with hands-on guidance from the commercial team.
- Map key stakeholders within target EU hospitals and imaging centres using your existing clinical network; maintain accurate records in the CRM.
- Build commercial proposals and learn to manage the full sales cycle — quotation, negotiation, and closing — in close collaboration with EU distribution partners and senior commercial colleagues.
- Connect with prospects by delivering product demonstrations for key stakeholders in hospitals — your clinical credibility will open doors that traditional sales approaches cannot.
- Support existing accounts in growing scan volumes through clinical engagement, workflow optimisation, and usage reviews — applying your hands-on clinical experience to drive consistent utilisation within the first 90 days post-installation.
Clinical Education & Customer Support
- Deepen your technical knowledge of BoneMRI, and translate your existing expertise in radiology and/or spine workflows into commercial positioning.
- Deliver hands-on training and onboarding to surgeons, radiologists, OR staff, and administrators — a natural extension of the clinical support you have provided throughout your career.
- Learn to translate clinical evidence and study results into compelling value propositions for both clinical and economic decision-makers — building the commercial communication skills that complement your clinical expertise.
- Build and support key opinion leaders in radiology and spine surgery, using the peer relationships you have developed as a Clinical Specialist.
Strategy & Market Intelligence
- Act as the voice of the customer — bringing frontline clinical insights to support evidence generation, real-world data initiatives, and commercial strategy.
- Support reimbursement efforts by linking clinical outcomes to economic impact and workflow efficiency.
- Represent MRIguidance at international conferences, hospital training events, and clinical demonstrations.
- Adhere to the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all applicable company policies and compliance standards.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Master’s in a health-related field (e.g., Radiography, Biomedical Engineering, Medicine, Medical Imaging, Movement Sciences) or equivalent clinical training.
- A genuine desire to move into a commercial role — you understand why your clinical background is an asset in sales, and you are motivated to develop new skills in areas such as CRM, quotations, and commercial negotiations.
- Proven hands-on knowledge of operating room and/or radiology department workflows, gained as a practicing Clinical Specialist.
- A track record of going beyond what is expected in clinical roles — the same drive will fuel your commercial ambitions.
- Strong ability to communicate and influence across clinical and administrative levels — you are already doing this in your current role.
- Excellent English communication skills; additional European languages are a strong plus.
- Eligible for a Dutch work visa (or EU/EEA citizen).
- Willingness to travel 2-3 times a year.
Preferred qualifications:
- Clinical Specialist background in Spine, Orthopedics, Radiology, or Neurosurgery — this is the core profile we are looking for.
- Knowledge of AI in Medicine.
- Being fluent in German is nice.
- Any prior commercial exposure, even informal: shadowing sales colleagues, participating in product evaluations, or supporting adoption initiatives.
- Experience with surgical navigation, robotics, or imaging software.
This role is for you if…
You are a Clinical Specialist — in radiology, spine, orthopedics, or a related field — who loves the clinical environment but is ready for more. You want to apply your knowledge differently: influencing strategy, shaping adoption, and building business. You are energised by the commercial side of MedTech and see this traineeship as the structured launchpad you need to make that switch. You thrive with autonomy, you’re excited by an early-stage environment, and you want your next step to mean something.

About MRIguidance
At MRIguidance, we are pioneering radiation-free bone imaging. Our product, BoneMRI, is an AI-powered software solution (SaMD) that generates 3D CT-like bone images from standard MRI scans — eliminating harmful radiation while improving diagnostic and surgical workflows. BoneMRI is CE and FDA cleared, reimbursed in the USA, and in active clinical use across more than 10 countries.
We are a mission-driven team headquartered in Utrecht, the Netherlands, united by one goal: impacting patient lives with radiation-free imaging.
Our values
In a growing company, your personal development is encouraged, ensuring that your skills and capabilities evolve alongside the company’s needs. We believe in the power of a collaborative and open-minded team, driven to innovate in medical imaging and deliver a trustworthy product. As a team of caring professionals, we support each other, bring out the best in one another, and work together to impact lives with radiation-free imaging.
We believe diversity is beneficial for the creativity and the good atmosphere of our company. However, Dutch regulation makes it very complicated for small companies to process a work visa for people from outside the EU. Therefore, all people are welcome to apply, as long as we do not have to arrange a work visa.
